Fluffy Pogaca (peasant Buns)

Ingredients

  • Servings: 15
  • 1/4 cup milk, warmed
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup mineral water
  • 1/2 bunch parsley
  • 1 1/2 cups feta cheese
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons poppy seeds

Recipe

  • 1 mix sugar and yeast with milk.
  • 2 combine flour, oil, salt, and mineral water in large bowl.
  • 3 add milk mixture and mix well. you can add a little more flour or mineral water if either of them is not enough. you should have a pliable and nonsticky dough.
  • 4 cover with moist cloth and let rest for 45 minute.
  • 5 chop the parsley and mix it with cheese.
  • 6 preheat oven to 350 degrees f or 180 degrees celsius.
  • 7 take a small piece of dough and flatten with your hands.
  • 8 put a teaspoon of cheese mixture on it , close up folding the edges upwards like a bundle, and repeat with remaining dough.
  • 9 place a parchment paper on a baking sheet and place the pogacas on it.
  • 10 the folded side of pogacas should be at the bottom to have a ball shape.
  • 11 coat each with egg yolk and a sprinkle of poppy seeds.
  • 12 bake about 30 minutes, or until they get golden.
