Dad's Saucy Meat Loaf

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground chuck
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 8 tablespoons bennets chili sauce (you can use kraft but it's not as good)
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tablespoon lea & perrin worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 deg.
  • 2 combine grnd chuck, oats, milk, 2 tbs chili sauce(save back 6 tbs for sauce) onion, egg, lea & perrins, and chili powder.
  • 3 form into loaf shape and bake 1hr.
  • 4 combine remaining chili sauce w/brown sugar. spread over meatloaf.
  • 5 bake additional 15 minute or until thermometer reads 165 deg.
  • 6 let stand 10 min and slice.
  • 7 if desired, serve with yukon gold homemade ( no instant) mashed potatoes and corn.
