Copycat Mccormick Swiss Steak Seasoning

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon dried green bell pepper
  • 2 tablespoons instant minced onion
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper or 1 teaspoon lemon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 resealable jar or old spice bottle with sprinkle top

Recipe

  • 1 combine all the ingredients  (the flour, minced onions, dried green bell peppers, garlic powder, salt, ground black pepper and paprika) in the resealable jar.  I put mine in a small electric chopper to powder
  • Transfer that powder into an old plastic spice bottle with a sprinkle top.
  • 2 close the jar and shake to combine the ingredients.
  • 3 store the dry swiss steak seasoning in a dry, dark place for up to one month.
  • 4 to prepare swiss steak using your seasoning mixture.
  •  combine the dry mix with 8 oz of tomato sauce and 1 cup of water. pour this over 1 1/2 lb. of round steak in a baking dish and cover.bake the steak for 45 minutes at 350 degrees fahrenheit.

  1. Why can you only store the mixture for up to only one month its all dry mixture.

  2. Didn't turn out at all like I expected. Won't be making this recipe again - too much pepper, not enough liquid, and tough as leather.

  3. Almost every food we eat contains sugar. It's better to enjoy a really extravagant dessert once in a while than to fill your daily diet with "fat-free" sugary treats which are basically empty calories and devoid of nutritional benefits. Other than table sugar, watch out for other forms of sugar, especially those words ending with "ol" or "ose".
