Chocolate Creme Cakes

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 (18 1/4 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
  • 1 (4 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Recipe

  • 1 in a large mixing bowl, combine cake and pudding mixes, oil, water and eggs; mix well.
  • 2 pour into a greased and floured 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan.
  • 3 bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  • 4 cool for 10 minutes; invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  • 5 in a small saucepan, combine flour and milk until smooth.
  • 6 bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
