Deep Dark Espresso Brownies

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup instant espresso coffee powder
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate morsel
  • powdered sugar, for dusting

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350f.
  • 2 lightly butter and flour an 9-inch square baking pan; set aside.
  • 3 beat brown sugar, butter and sugar in a mixing bowl.
  • 4 add eggs, vanilla and salt.
  • 5 beat until well blended.
  • 6 stir in espresso powder, flour and baking powder, mixing until smooth.
  • 7 fold in chocolate chips.
  • 8 pour batter into prepared pan.
  • 9 bake for 30 mins.
  • 10 or until skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
  • 11 cool completely in pan; cut and serve dusted with powdered sugar.
