Cream Cheese Spice Cake With Spicy Mocha Frosting

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, softened
  • 2 tablespoons baking cocoa (not dutch processed)
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee granules

Recipe

  • 1 for cake:.
  • 2 heat oven to 350. grease and flour 13x9x2 inch pan.
