Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients

- 1/4 cup unbleached flour, plus
- 1 tablespoon unbleached flour
- 1/4 cup oat bran
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup instant nonfat dry milk powder
- 1 pinch baking soda
- 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
- 3 egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Recipe
- 1 combine flour, oat bran, cocoa, sugar, milk powder and baking soda in a large bowl; mix well.
- 2 stir in the chocolate syrup, egg whites, and vanilla extract.
- 3 fold in nuts if desired.
- 4 coat an 8"x8" pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- 5 spread batter evenly in pan, and bake at 325 degrees for 23 minutes or just until edges are firm and center is almost set.
- 6 cool to room temperature, cut into 16 2" squares and serve.
