Brown Rice Almondine

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons margarine
  • 1 1/4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 cups minute instant brown rice
  • 1 cup frozen cut green beans, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sliced almonds
  • 1/2 teaspoon dill weed

Recipe

  • 1 cook and stir onion in hot margarine until tender.
  • 2 add broth, lemon juice and garlic powder.
  • 3 bring to boil.
  • 4 stir in rice.
  • 5 return to boil.
  • 6 reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 5 minutes.
  • 7 remove from heat.
  • 8 stir in green beans, almonds and dill; cover.
  • 9 let stand 5 minutes.
