Chicken (or Turkey) A La King

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 6 teaspoons butter or 6 teaspoons margarine
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon instant bouillon granules
- 1 (4 ounce) can mushrooms, stems and pieces, drained
- 1/4 cup chopped pimiento
- 2 cups cubed cooked chicken or 2 cups cubed cooked turkey
- 1 (15 ounce) can peas
- toast points or toasted english muffins or biscuit
Recipe
- 1 for sauce, melt butter or margarine in a large saucepan.
- 2 stir in flour, salt, and pepper.
- 3 add the milk, water and bouillon all at once.
- 4 cook and stir over medium heat until thick and bubbly.
- 5 stir in the chicken or turkey, mushrooms, peas and pimiento.
- 6 continue to stir and cook until sauce bubbles again.
- 7 serve over toast points, english muffins or biscuits.
