Apples 'n' Cream Trifle

Ingredients

- 1 (14 ounce) can eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/2 cups cold water
- 1 (102 g) package vanilla instant pudding mix
- 2 cups whipping cream
- 10 cups apples, peeled, cored and sliced (golden delicious, northern spy, or cortland)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 (298 g) package poundcake, sliced
Recipe
- 1 in large bowl, use electric mixer to beat sweetened condensed milk and water together until smooth. add pudding mix; beat well. chil until thickened, about 20 minutes. fold in whipped cream.
- 2 in large skillet over medium heat sauté apples with butter, brown and sugar and cinnamon until tender. cool completely.
- 3 line bottom of a 12 cup round trifle bowl with slices of pound cake (or divide amongst individual trifle dishes).
- 4 spoon half pudding mixture over pound cake, then cover with apples. repeat one more layer, reserving a bit of pudding mixture for garnishing the top layer. chill overnight.
